Why rugby?
When I was in high school a few of my friends convinced me to try it out and I’ve loved it ever since.

What have you liked about Michigan rugby the most so far?
The team is like one big family, I know that I could trust any one of my teammates whenever I need them.

Most memorable moment on the pitch?
Back in high school I played on a team with only 15 players. We had to fight all game long to stay in games against more experienced teams with full benches. In our last game of the season we needed to win in order to make it to the playoffs. We were leading 19-15 and on the final play of the game i won a turnover that gave our team possession and let us kick the ball out to win the game.

What’s your favorite rugby drill in practice? Least Favorite?
I like when we play the “shame game” lining up in a small grid to see who can be physical enough to power through all the defenders and score. My least favorite is conditioning/fitness.

What other sports have you played?
Played football and wrestled through middle and high school.

In 5 years, what do you see yourself doing?
Working for the CDC or doing field work in developing countries.

What’s some embarrassing childhood memories you can share with us?
When I was young I couldn’t say ghosts and when I was riding in the car with my aunt one day I thought I saw a ghost and started saying “Oooh goats”

Favorite place in Ann Arbor?
The Diag in the spring and summer when its full of people is always a fun place to be.

Biggest Fear?
Letting down someone who put their trust in me.

Favorite food/meal?
Sushi

Any game day superstitions?
I have a pair of socks I wear under my kit socks for every game.

Favorite superhero and why?
Ironman, he was my dad’s favorite and he passed that love down to me.

Best advice you’ve ever received?
My father once told me to do everything at 100% now or I may regret going easy in the future. There are times when I’ve followed that advice and others I haven’t and now looking back the only things I regret have been done when I wasn’t following that advice.
